More About The StoryTeller

For years, Polly has written stories and photographed people and places she finds intriguing.  A venturous spirit with a spunky style, she laughs as she reads Webster’s definition of adventure… a bold, usually risky undertaking with an uncertain outcome.  “Nothing describes my life more than a risky undertaking with an uncertain outcome.” Polly says, “Think about it, everything you do is a risky undertaking from starting a business, to getting married to following Christ.  It all carries a certain degree of risk.”

Everyone Has A Story

Polly Riddell is published under the pen name G. Polly Jordan (ask her about that story!)  She writes and promotes stories about people and businesses and says, “everyone has a story.  It is my job to discover your special attributes and write about you and your business in an engaging way others will remember.”

Writer and Photographer

She is a writer and photographer for Greenwood Monthly and Center Grove Monthly Magazines and specializes in business spotlight stories.

She has taken the business spotlight focus to the internet and social media by writing promotional blogs featuring People, Professions and Passions with Building Blessing & Beyond, a networking group and information provider focused on the home building industry.

Polly writes stories of faith for ChristianPhoneBook.com and says “It is amazing to see how God works and how God answers prayers.  Exhilarating to be the scribe entrusted to record the stories of how connections are made simply as a result of sharing faith and recommending like-minded people.”

Compelling Stories Give BIG Voices to Small Ventures

Storytelling is a powerful technique for building relationships.  Polly wants to promote you and your business by telling a memorable story which connects emotionally with the reader.

Compelling stories give big voices to small ventures.  The human connection is the heart and soul of business and the story is the vehicle.

Hook You With A Memorable Opener

Polly wastes no time in setting the stage and says “I want to reel you in from the opening paragraph.  One of my favorite stories came from a dreaded assignment to interview a doctor to feature a sleep center.  After all, how interesting and exciting is a sleep study?  But after interviewing the witty doctor and delving deep for an emotional connection, the opening paragraph was one of my favorites.”

Story begins “I am here because my wife kicked me out and says she is ready for a divorce.”  His wife did not send him to a marriage counselor or to an attorney, she sent him to the Indiana Sleep Center because “He snores and I am exhausted.”  This is how most men reluctantly arrive at the Indiana Sleep Center and meet Dr. Singh.

A Heart for People

Polly has a heart for people.  Long before blogging was even a word, she was writing stories about people and sharing those stories with all who would listen.  “Recently, a disabled classmate reached out to me on Facebook needing a plumber.  It was a nasty problem which had gone on for months and there was no money for a solution.  I could not turn my back on her, so I enlisted my friends to join me to help.  This small act of obedience was the catalyst for God to show up in a BIG way.  These community stories need to be told.  I coined a new term ‘Sewer Angels’ when the Gurney J. Bush company selflessly came to the rescue when they heard my story.  Read Sewer Angels. The Garcia family set a Godly example to the four foster children they are adopting to demonstrate Christ’s command to help those in need.  Read A Servant’s Heart.

“None of these people would ever draw attention to what they have done, but I needed to write a story to illustrate what the love of Christ looks like in everyday ordinary people.  God knows who to send my way.  When graphic artist, Sydney Nicholas rolled in for her interview in a wheelchair, God knew my heart needed to hear her story and then of course I hired her and wrote about it.” Read  Sydney’s Story.

Let Polly write YOUR story.

What Others Say

“Polly is a great asset for our magazine. She is one of the few photographers whose first assignment ended up on the cover! She easily adapted her photography style to match the needs of the publication.”

“In addition to photography, Polly has also written for our magazine. She works well with her subjects, whether they are a young couple updating their home or an MD with a special story to tell.”  Dann Veldkamp, Publisher Greenwood Monthly and Center Grove Monthly Magazines

“Polly put into words what I could not.  Her story exceeded my expectations.”  Todd Taylor, Taylor Mechanical
